Month-by-Month Timelines for Living the METEA LIFE
August  
  • Log in to StudentVue in mid-August to check your schedule; contact your counselor if there are concerns
September
  • Reflect on your successes and areas of growth from freshman year; set your academic and personal goals for sophomore year
  • Attend the MVHS Activity Fair during lunch--look for opportunities to get involved in a club or other activity
  • Through your College Board account, join your individual AP classes with the codes given to you by your AP teacher.
October
  • Counselor present lesson in Health class on Resilience and GRIT 
  • Attend TCD field trip to explore technical and hands-on training opportunities available for high school students​ 
November
  • Attend Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences--students and parents attend conferences together
  • Begin preparation for finals
December
  • Counselors present through PE classes about course selection process and timeline
  • Explore electives to get ready for course selection in January
  • Parents and students should attend Academic Planning Night-several topics/sessions to choose
January
  • Course planning for potential careers
  • Discuss recommendations by teachers for courses for junior year
  • Career and college exploration in sophomore English classes
February
  • Meet individually with counselor to confirm course selections for junior year (through math class).
  • Counselor present lesson in Health class on Resilience and GRIT 
March
  • Attend AP review sessions to prepare for AP exams in May
April
  • Submit elective change of mind requests to counselor (if needed)
  • PSAT (Practice SAT) testing during the school day​
May
  • Finalize questions you may have regarding junior year schedule
  • AP Testing
  • ​Prepare for final exams
